A concert of trumpet music from capricious styles to prayer and praise. The trumpet is known to be loud and alarming, however, often it is playful and yet solemn. You will hear the many facets of the trumpet in this ear-opening experience. 

Dan Tremblay (B.Mus. Montréal, M.Mus. McGill) is an active musician, clinician and teacher in Quebec, Maritime Provinces, New York State, and Ontario, dividing his time between Queen’s University School of Music, and Crane School of Music, Potsdam NY. Regularly performing with orchestras in Kingston, Montréal, and Rimouski, Dan is conducting the Queen’s University Wind Ensemble, Brass Choir, Trumpet Ensemble, and The Quinte Symphony in Belleville ON. 

Dan Tremblay (B.Mus. Montréal, M.Mus. McGill) est musicien, clinicien et professeur au Québec, Provinces Maritimes, New York et Ontario. Enseigant à l’Université Queen’s et à la Crane School of Music, Potsdam NY, Dan joue régulièrement avec les orchestres de ces mêmes régions. Directeur musical de l’Ensemble à Vent, Choeur de Cuivres et l’Ensemble de Trompettes de l’Université Queen’s, Dan dirige l’Orchestre Symphonique de Belleville ON. 

Russ DeVuyst is an internationally recognized trumpet player that has recently retired after 24 years as Associate Principal Trumpet with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Throughout his career he has held positions with the Israel Philharmonic, The R.A.I. Orchestra of Italy, Mexico Orchestra, Rhode Island Philharmonic as well as having performed with the N.Y. Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony and others. He is currently Assistant trumpet Professor at the Schullich School of Music/Mcgill. 

Russ DeVuyst est une trompettiste de réputation internationale. Il a récemment pris sa retraite après 24 ans à titre d’associé principal de l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Pendant sa carrière, il a occupé des postes au Philharmonique d’Israël, au R.A.I. Orchestre de l’Italie, à l’Orchestre du Mexique, au Rhode Island Philarmonic et a aussi joué avec le N.Y. Philharmonic, le Boston Symphony,et le Cincinninati Symphony. Il est actuellement professeur adjoint de trompette à la Scullich School of Music de McGill. 

Thomas Davidson is a graduate of Queen’s University, The Royal College of Music in London, England and McGill University. He is a frequent performer, both in Canada and abroad, and on CBC radio. Assistant Professor Davidson is Associate Coordinator of the Keyboard Area at Queen’s School of Music and served as Chair of Musicianship Studies at McGill’s Schulich School of Music for over 12 years. 

Thomas Davidson est un diplômé de l’Université Queen’s, du Royal College of Music à Londres, Angleterre, et de l’Université McGill. Professeur Assistant aux universités Queen’s et McGill, où il a enseigné depuis 1984, Davidson est Coordinateur Associé de la section Piano à la School of Music de l’Université Queen’s et était Directeur des Études en Formation Auditive à la Schulich School of Music de l’Université McGill.
