Rachmaninoff's 13 Preludes Op. 32
Décrit pour sa "vision mature" pour Rachmaninoff par le Washington Post, le pianiste américain Kara Huber mettra en vedette Sergei Rachmaninoff's epic 13 Préludes Op. 32.
Hailed as “a young rising star…poised at the prelude to her career” by The Watch, American pianist Kara Huber has been acclaimed for her “mature vision” by The Washington Post during a performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Ms. Huber has made numerous solo appearances at the Kennedy Center, the Piano Virtuoso Series at the Canadian Opera Company, and the Rising Stars Piano Series in Southampton, New York. The 2016-2017 season will feature her Carnegie Hall debut in Weill Recital Hall. Often hired as a recitalist for her inventive and creative programming that all audiences can enjoy, Ms. Huber has performed across North America, Europe, and Australia. Most recently, she was awarded the Audience Favorite Award in the Cincinnati World Piano Competition as well as conducted and performed with the Canadian Chamber Orchestra in Toronto.
Ms. Huber has received numerous prizes and awards for her performances, including the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, The Stetcher and Horowitz Foundation’s New York Piano Competition, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Quickly gaining an international reputation for her extraordinary prowess and flair for contemporary music, Kara works closely with living composers, has recorded with the ARC Ensemble for Chandos Records, and collaborated with Percussion Group Cincinnati.
Ms. Huber began private lessons at the age of five. At sixteen, she was admitted to the Interlochen Arts Academy and made her orchestral debut with the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra. Kara has received degrees at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Frank Weinstock and Awadagin Pratt. Currently based in Toronto, she most recently completed an Artist Diploma degree at the Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music with John Perry and Leon Fleisher.
